Petition Letter
Petition Letter: To Whom It May Concern,
I am requesting to drop the courses ENGL 292, ENGL 293, and GNDS 215, as well as to receive the credit for ENGL 200 on aegrotat standing. I have been struggling these past few years with severe depression, and this semester was especially difficult for me. There was a death in my family in late January, which triggered and worsened my depression, and there was a second death in the family in late March.
Due to this I have been unable to focus on my schoolwork, and have had trouble with attending classes. Since ENGL 200 is a full year course, I am hoping that my work from the fall term, as well as what little I was able to do in the winter term will be sufficient to achieve the aegrotat standing. As for the other courses, I do not feel confident in my ability to pass them, and am therefore requesting to drop them.
I have seen a counsellor this semester to discuss my difficulties, and will continue to do so over the summer so that I am improved for the next academic year.
Thank you for considering my appeal.
Regards,
Caroline Hunt, 10006477
