Petition Letter: Good afternoon,
I have significantly struggled to maintain my typical gpa (3.68) this semester. I have experienced emotional distress due to personal problems at home. This has impacted my quality of work and study habits, specifically in PSYC 343. Recently I have scored 55% on my midterm exam and 55% on a term paper, which is extremely abnormal for me. During this semester I have also been accepted to a postgraduate program in naturopathic medicine. I have changed my degree from a BsCH psychology to a BA psychology in order to graduate and continue my studies in September 2023. I am worried that an low grade, or failing grade will impact my ability to go on to naturopathic school. This course is not required for my degree plan or elective count. I am currently working on my mental health, and working to get acceptable grades in my three other courses. Dropping this course would reduce stress for me and allow me to focus my time on my other courses and mental health.
