Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am petitioning to drop the HLTH 101 class as I currently find myself in a position where I don't think I will be successful in the course. Throughout the time period from reading week till now I have been struggling with mental health due to personal problems that have discussed with an advisor at student wellness. They have analyzed my circumstances and saw that was unfit to fully pay attention and do my work as a student

I have actively taken the different approaches to try and fit my mental health after speaking to the student wellness advisor, however still find myself in a position where I currently do not have the means to complete the final assignment. I have spoken to the professors within my other classes and have obtained a significant amount of support as they have given me academic consideration and one on one meeting to help guide me in the completion of my assignments as they can understand the circumstances I am.

I currently want to to drop this class as I don't see me being successful in it and see it it hurting me more then anything. I am currently taking it as an elective as it is not a required course for my program (Sociology), therefore dropping the class won't hurt my academic career.
