Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,
I am writing to appeal my final exam submission for the fall POLS261 course. In this appeal, I am requesting that my assignment is re-evaluated by the instructor. After receiving feedback from the TA, I find that the feedback is inconsistent with my submission. For Question 1 of the examination, the TA has written that there is no relevance/irrelevance analysis. In my submission, paragraphs 4 and 5 discuss the relevance of the core assumption of idealism, stating that the value placed on institution building in idealism is reflected in contemporary institutions like the United Nations and Nato. The submission proceeds to discuss how realism is relevant today by discussing anarchy, specifically through an example of the war in Ukraine. This can be found on page 2, paragraph 10. Paragraph 11 proceeds to analyze the irrelevant aspects of realism by discussing power. As shown, my submission has exhibited several instances of analysis regarding the relevance and irrelevance of realism and idealism. The feedback provided on this portion of the assignment does not reflect the work submitted.
Furthermore, the feedback given for Question 2 of the examination also fails to propose an adequate criticism of my work. The TA has written that there is no analysis and that my response doesn't answer all questions. The examination asks the writer to Write an essay that discusses how the evolution of capitalism led to our current era of globalization in world politics and how understanding it as such brings to IR a way to understand change in world politics that cannot been effectively understood by either realism or liberalism. Your response MUST begin with a clear and concise statement of argument (or hypothesis). Paragraphs 1 through 7 discuss the evolution of capitalism that led to the current era of globalization. Proceeding this is a paragraph that describes how understanding the evolution of capitalism to the era of globalization that is now allows one to understand cooperation in world politics that can not be effectively understood by realism. This paragraphs clearly answers the remaining part of the question, thus fulfilling all answers required.
