Petition Letter: Dear Sir/Madam,

I took a job as a live-in nanny in August. I took the job under the condition that I would only have to work five hours a day and five days a week. Therefore, I took three courses for the Fall term under the impression that I would have more than enough time for my schooling. It was traumatic during the period that I worked for them. The parents were negligent and would leave the house knowing that the kids ( 2, 4 and 6 years old ) were not under any supervision. Therefore, my working hours doubled because I felt uncomfortable leaving the children alone in the house. The dad was also feeding alcohol to the toddlers. They were also offering weeds and asked me to join them. One time, the dad left the toddler in the bath, and he drowned for a few minutes and was not hospitalised. I was the only responsible child care in that household, and under extreme pressure, I stopped focusing on my school work. The church I attended had to meet with me because they suspected child abuse. After struggling for one month, I finally alerted the CPS; however, the CPS did not take any action because the parents were under the influence when the social worker came to visit. And because they didn??t take any further action, I stayed until December when the children??s grandparents returned. During the entire time, I struggled with long covid, and I had two hospitalised twice due to allergic reactions.
