Dear Ms. Prabhu:

I have reviewed your appeal to change the grades you received in LING 205 (F 2014), SPAN 344 and SPAN 381 (W 2015) to Aegrotat standing as well as request an extension of your incomplete grade in LING 202 (W 2015). After careful consideration of the documentation you submitted and the information supplied by the instructors about the circumstances surrounding these courses, I have decided to grant your appeal.

The instructors of these courses have already submitted replacement grades based on the work you have completed, which will appear on your transcript as follows along with the notation €œAegrotat: estimated grade€€

LING 205 B- €œAegrotat: Estimated Grade€
SPAN 344 B €œAegrotat: Estimated Grade€
SPAN 381 B €œAegrotat: Estimated Grade€

In terms of your extension to submit work for LING 202, I will set your deadline for May 1, 2016. It is your responsibility to communicate regularly with Professor Riehl to ensure that your work is received within the timelines you agree upon. I have allowed a generous extension in your case due to the unpredictable nature of your symptoms and the unforeseeable timeline for recovery. I hope this will allow you the time you need to successfully complete LING 202. However, should your illness continue to affect your ability to complete this course by the deadline, I would urge you to consult with our Appeals Coordinator, Ms. Everson, for further advice.

Sincerely,

Johanne Bénard, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Studies)
