Dear Ms. Wodehouse:

I have carefully considered your appeal to drop ARTH 120B and CLST 103 (W 2016) past the academic deadline as well as request Credit standing in CLST 102 (F 2015), GPHY 102, HIST 124B and PSYC 100B (W 2016). After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

Given your circumstances I would also be willing to change your grade in HLTH 101 to Credit standing as well. If you would like to accept this offer, please email asc.appeals@queensu.ca within 21 days of receiving this decision to confirm and we will make the appropriate changes to your transcript.

I would like to note that this is a lenient decision as the academic regulation related to Credit standing normally allows for comparison of academic performance that has been affected by extenuating circumstances to the normal academic performance (prior to the time of the extenuating circumstances). As a first year student, we have no basis to make this comparison. However, I am willing to make an allowance in this case.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

I am confident that in the future you will make every effort to inform yourself of the academic regulations concerning deadlines as they are outlined in Important Dates Section on the Arts and Science web page. These deadlines have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students and to facilitate the timely completion of university studies at Queen's.
