I have reviewed your appeal to change the grades you received in CISC 471 and BIOL 334 (Winter 2016) to Credit standing. After careful consideration of the documentation you submitted, I have decided to grant your appeal. Your grades in these courses will appear on your transcript as CR.
I would like to note that this is your seventh appeal, based on essentially the same extenuating circumstances. The appeal system is not designed to compensate for situations that are ongoing in nature, and which remain unresolved such that they continue to impact a student€™s academic performance. I strongly recommend in the future, that you will assess your ability to complete each course that you take before the deadline to drop each term and make a proactive decision based on your current health situation and extent of completion of each course. It is important for students to assume this responsibility in cases where the extenuating circumstances are not resolved or are not well managed. I also strongly recommend that you follow your doctor€™s advice and carry a reduced course load (I would suggest no more than 3 courses per term) until your health condition has stabilized. Any further appeals based on these same circumstances as a result of taking more courses than you can comfortably handle will not be viewed favourably.
Please continue to seek regular medical treatment and academic advising over the next year to help you maintain a good balance between managing your health and your studies.
