Dear Mr. Fleming:

I have carefully considered your appeal to drop PSYC 100 (FW 2012/13), PSYC 100 (S 2013), MATH 126 (FW 2013/14), ECON 222 and ECON 231 (F 2015) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided the following:

1. I will grant your appeal to drop MATH 126 (FW 2013/14), ECON 222 and ECON 231 (F 2015) past the academic deadlines.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

2. I must unfortunately deny your appeal to drop PSYC 100 (FW 2012/13) and PSYC 100 (S 2013) past the academic deadlines.

The police report you submitted relating to the SeaDoo accident confirms that the accident took place after both attempts of PSYC 100 (the fall/winter term of 2012/13 and summer term of 2013, as the course finished in July and the accident took place in August). The letter from Dr. Whyne Berman confirms that you experienced depressive episodes during the Winter 2014 term and that you would likely have been able to resume your studies again by January 2015. Lastly, the form from Dr. Zoudis confirms that you had problems with depression and anxiety over the course of the 2015 fall term. This documentation therefore covers the timeline of having significant extenuating circumstances from Winter 2014 through to Fall 2015 that affected your academic studies but does not address any issues prior to the Winer 2014 term. Without such documentation to confirm the presence and severity of extenuating circumstances and the specific impact that they had on your academic studies during that time (Fall 2012 to Summer 2013), I cannot reasonably waive the academic regulation.
