I have carefully considered your appeal to drop CISC 453 (W 2016), COGS 400 (F 2016), MATH 111 and MATH 121 (FW 2016/17) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

Note that you must register with the Accessibility Services office as soon as possible to ensure that you receive the academic accommodations you require moving forward. Their office can be reached at 613-533-6467, accessibility.services@queensu.ca, 146 Stuart St.

Please also note that the appeals system is not designed for ongoing use to cope with a chronic health issue, therefore, further appeals based on continuing circumstances are generally not viewed favourably. If you find that your health condition continues to affect your studies again at any point in the future, you need to actively drop courses by the published deadlines. If you require any advice or assistance at any time, I urge you to contact the Faculty Office at 613-533-2470. Our academic advisors can help you with these decisions.

Note that any change in academic registration (e.g. dropping courses) may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding such as OSAP, scholarships, or bursaries. Please consult with the Student Awards Office (Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall) to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load. A change in academic registration may also affect a student€™s enrollment status as a full or part-time student, eligibility for student visas, or benefits through external agencies.
