Dear Ms. Fong:

I have carefully considered your appeal to drop BCHM 218 and ANAT 100 (W 2018) past the academic deadline as well as receive Credit standing in BIOL 201 and BIOL 243 (F 2017). After reviewing your file I have decided the following:

1. I will grant your request to drop BCHM 218 and ANAT 100 past the academic deadline. The documentation supplied confirms the timeline and severity of your circumstances over the winter term when these courses took place and more specifically, after the March 2 drop deadline. Therefore, it is reasonable to allow a late drop in this case.

2. I must unfortunately deny your request to receive Credit standing in BIOL 201 and BIOL 243. Although I understand that your problems started over Thanksgiving weekend with your mother issuing you an ultimatum, there isn€™t enough evidence to show the specific impact that this had on your grades in these particular courses. Your transcript also shows similar grades in previous terms so there is no clear indication that you would have performed significantly better in these courses under any different circumstances. Without such evidence I cannot justify the changing of grades on your academic record.

If you wish to appeal the Associate Dean€™s decision to the Board of Studies, you must submit an appeal to the Board of Studies within 21 days of the date this decision was sent.
