Dear Ms. Lan:

I have carefully considered your appeal to receive Credit standing in ARTH 242, ENIN 301 (F 2017) and STAT 263 (W 2018). After reviewing your file I have decided the following:

1. I will grant your request to receive Credit standing in ARTH 242 and ENIN 301. The documentation supplied confirms the timeline and severity of your extenuating circumstances over the fall term and your pattern of previous grades on your transcript suggests that your expected performance is generally stronger than the D grades earned in these courses.

2. I must unfortunately deny your request to receive Credit standing in STAT 263. The documentation supplied only confirms your circumstances from November to January, it does not confirm the problems you experienced over the winter term. Furthermore, your documentation shows that you received academic accommodations for STAT 263 that were designed to remove the barriers that your health condition is causing and allow you to participate in the class effectively. Your performance in this class is therefore considered to be a valid attempt unless you can supply some documentation from a healthcare professional to explain why the accommodations put in place were not effective.

If you wish to appeal the Associate Dean€™s decision to the Board of Studies, you must submit an appeal to the Board of Studies within 21 days of the date this decision was sent.
