Dear Ms. Lew:

I have carefully considered your appeal to drop ARTH 212, ENGL 100B, HIST 250B, HIST 312B (W 2017), GRMN 101, HIST 269 (F 2017), HIST 215, HIST 257, and HIST 303B (W 2018) past the academic deadline as well as receive Aegrotat standing in HIST 312B (W 2017). After reviewing your file I have decided the following:

1. I will grant your request to drop HIST 215, HIST 257 and HIST 303B past the academic deadline. The documentation supplied covers the timeline in which these courses were taken and speaks to the general severity of your circumstances.

2. I must however, deny your request to drop ARTH 212, ENGL 100B, HIST 250B, HIST 312B, GRMN 101 and HIST 269 as well as your request to receive Aegrotat standing in HIST 312B. The letter from Mr. Beattie confirms that you have been receiving counselling over the 2018 winter term but it does not confirm the timeline or severity of your circumstances over the Winter or Fall 2017 terms when you took these courses. Without proper documentation from a healthcare professional to confirm the full timeline and severity of your health condition as well as speak to the impact that your condition had on these particular classes at the time, I cannot justify making such changes to your transcript.

Your transcript shows that you are continuing to register in a full course load each term, including two courses this summer, despite failing nearly all of your classes over the past two years. I€™m glad to hear that you are now receiving counselling, but I€™m concerned that even with this help your academic performance has not shown any improvement. I would strongly recommend that you monitor the drop deadlines very carefully and if you are continuing to experience problems that affect your coursework, you must drop classes as needed within these deadlines.

I would also recommend that you consider taking some time away from your studies to prioritize your health. After some time away, you may be in a better position to fully dedicate your time and energy to your studies. At this time you should register with Accessibility Services to ensure that you receive any academic accommodations you need moving forward.
