Dear Ms. Romero:
I have reviewed your appeal to Drop ENGL 487, ENGL 441 (F 2016) and ENGL 489, ENGL 466, ENGL 461, ENGL 446 (W 2017), receive Credit standing in ENGL 471 (F 2016), as well as change the grade you received in RELS 234 (F 2016) to Aegrotat standing. After careful consideration of the documentation you submitted and the information supplied by the instructors about the circumstances surrounding these courses, I have decided to grant your appeal.
The instructor of RELS 234 has submitted a replacement grade based on the work you have completed, which will appear on your transcript as A along with the notation €œAegrotat: estimated grade€. Your grade in ENGL 471 will appear on your transcript as CR.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
I am confident that in the future you will make every effort to inform yourself of the academic regulations concerning deadlines as they are outlined in Important Dates Section on the Arts and Science web page. These deadlines have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students providing them with the opportunity to evaluate their progress and make informed decisions regarding dropping courses when life circumstances affect their studies.
Yours sincerely,
Jill Atkinson, Ph.D.
