I have carefully considered your appeal to waive the 21-day deadline to submit an appeal late. After reviewing your appeal, I must unfortunately deny your request.
The deadline to submit your appeal to waive the Requirement to Withdraw for One Year was clearly outlined in the letter you received. This deadline is in place to ensure fair decision making takes place in a timely manner and to allow decisions to be made prior to the start of the next academic year so students are not placed at any disadvantage. The 21 day deadline also provides the student with a sufficient amount of time to collect relevant information and documentation for their appeal. Your appeal does not supply any evidence of extenuating circumstances that prevented you from submitting this appeal within the deadline. You state in your letter that you struggled to find the right person to go to for advice but your file shows that you have submitted two appeals in the past (your most recent was submitted on April 25, 2018) and you met with an academic advisor on April 20 to seek advice regarding your impending requirement to withdraw and appealing. I am therefore, not convinced of your argument that you were uninformed of the process or where to seek help.
If you wish to appeal the Associate Dean€™s decision to the Board of Studies, you must submit an appeal to the Board of Studies within 21 days of the date this decision was sent.
