I have carefully considered your appeal to drop CLST 205 (S 2018) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I am confident that in the future you will make every effort to drop courses by the deadlines as they are outlined in Important Dates Section on the Arts and Science web page. These deadlines have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure that students have 8 weeks to evaluate their progress and, if life circumstances are compromising their studies, to drop courses without academic penalty. The appeals process is not meant to be used to manage ongoing problems but is designed for students who encounter problems, or whose problems become acute, after the drop deadline. I encourage you to reach out for help from our Student Wellness Services office and meet with a Counsellor and/or consider registering with Queen€™s Student Accessibility Services who can assist you in managing your mental health.
