Dear Ms. Zafar:

I have carefully considered your appeal to drop DRAM 303 and ARTH 354 (W 2018) past the academic deadline and receive Credit standing in LIBS 100 and PHYS P20 (F 2017), Aegrotat standing in BIOL 350 (W 2018) and an extension of your Incomplete grade in FILM 335 (F 2017). After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your requests. Please note however that your request for Aegrotat standing in BIOL 350 will be amended to receive Credit standing in that course. Your grades in LIBS 100, PHYS P20 and BIOL 350 will appear on your transcript as CR. The extension of your grade in FILM 335 has been approved and we have received the grade change for that course which will now be processed.

Your requests for Credit standing in ENGL 100 (FW 2015-16), ASTR 102 (F 2016) and FREN 107, PHIL 203 (W 2017) will not be considered with this appeal due to the lack of documentation to support those timeframes.

I have granted this appeal based on the severity of your extenuating circumstances and the difficulty you had transitioning to university. But I need to warn you that the appeals process is not meant to be used to manage ongoing problems. The Appeal process is designed for students who encounter problems, or whose problems become acute, after the drop deadline. Instead, I would encourage you to work with your Counsellor and an Academic Advisor to manage your academics. This could include taking a lighter course load and would include evaluating the impact of your health on your studies prior to week 8 of term.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
