Decision Letter
Appeal Number: 4864
Decision Date: October 18, 2018
Associate Dean: Johanne Benard, Ph.D.
Student Name: Elizabeth Studholme
Student Email: 13es28@queensu.ca
Dear Ms. Studholme:
I have carefully considered your appeal to drop GPHY 243, PHIL 276 (F 2017) and ARTH 228, ARTH 260 and CLST 203 (W 2018) past the academic deadline as well as receive Aegrotat standing in PHIL 153 and PHIL 275 (W 2018). After reviewing your file I have decided the following:
1. I will grant your request to drop ARTH 228, ARTH 260 and CLST 203 (W 2018).
2. I will deny your request to drop PHIL 276 and GPHY 243 (F 2017) past the academic deadline. Study permit issues are not considered extenuating as you were able to make a determination as to your progress in these course by the Week 8 deadline. I cannot therefore justify altering your transcript after the fact.
3. I will deny your request for Aegrotat standing in PHIL 153 and PHIL 275 since, according to your instructors, you have not completed 60 of the course work. I will however allow you to drop PHIL 153 course late and grant you Credit standing in PHIL 275. If you would like to accept this offer, please email asc.appeals@queensu.ca within 21 days of receiving this letter and we will make the appropriate changes to your transcript.
If you wish to appeal the Associate Dean€™s decision to the Board of Studies, you must submit an appeal to the Board of Studies within 21 days of the date this decision was sent.
