I have carefully considered your appeal to drop DRAM 100 (FW 2015-16) and ENGL 257 (W 2017). After reviewing your file I have decided the following:
1. To grant your request to drop DRAM 100 based on your extenuating circumstances which were outlined in a previous appeal and are documented by Student Wellness Services.
2. To deny your request to drop ENGL 257. Your letter states that due to the challenges of dealing with your displaced family and home as a result of the Fort MacMurray wildfires you were unable to participate fully in that course but you have been unable to provide documentation to support that circumstance. I will reconsider the late drop of ENGL 257 (W 2017) upon receipt of documentation which outlines the effect of the extenuating circumstances or your ability to complete schoolwork during Winter term 2017.
Note that we do not need an account of the details of your difficulties but we do need documentation of the impact these circumstances had on your ability to drop ENGL257 by the week 8 deadline. A letter from a counsellor or physician is typical in such instances. Your letter from June 2016 from your health care provider was grounds for dropping DRAM 100.
If you wish to appeal this decision you must submit an appeal to the Board of Studies within 21 days of the date this decision was sent.
