I have carefully considered your appeal to drop GEOL 200 (F 2018) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I have granted this appeal based on the fact that you did not receive any grades in this course by the drop date. Going forward you will be expected to appraise your progress by week 8 of the term, even in the absence of grades. Upper year students are encouraged to stop and reflect on their engagement at week 7 to determine whether they€™ve kept up with their readings, quizzes, began working on assignments, etc. If not, a student may drop a course without academic penalty at the end of week 8.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
