I have carefully considered your appeal to receive Credit standing in GEOL 102 and HLTH 101 (F 2017). After reviewing your file I have decided the following:
1. To grant your request for Credit in GEOL 102 based on your extenuating circumstances. Your grade in this course will appear as a CR on your transcript.
2. To deny your request to receive Credit in HLTH 101. Academic Appeal Regulation 3.3.4 states that CR standing is normally awarded for a grade of C or lower. Since you received a grade of B- in this course, receiving CR standing is not a good option for this course and it is in your best academic interest to maintain the grade of B-.
I am pleased to read in your letter of appeal that you felt your mental health had improved during the Winter term 2018 and I hope that continues. The appeals process is not meant to be used to manage ongoing problems and is designed for students who encounter problems, or whose problems become acute, after the drop deadline. I encourage you to evaluate the impact of your health on your studies prior to week 8 of term and to drop courses if necessary at that time.
