Student Name: Kate Robertson
Student Email: 16ker@queensu.ca

Course: HLTH 334
Term: Fall
Year: 2018
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline

Dear Ms. Robertson:

I have carefully considered your appeal to drop HLTH 334 (F 2018) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I am confident that in the future you will make every effort to drop courses by the deadlines as they are outlined in Important Dates Section on the Arts and Science web page. These deadlines have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure that students have 8 weeks to evaluate their progress and, if life circumstances are compromising their studies, to drop courses without academic penalty. Students are encouraged to stop and reflect on their engagement at week 7 to determine whether they€™ve kept up with their readings, quizzes, begun working on assignments, etc. If not, a student may drop a course without academic penalty up until the end of week 8.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

Yours sincerely,

Jill Atkinson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Studies)
