Dear Ms. Laplante:

I have reviewed your appeal to change the grades you received in SOCY 122 & PSYC 100 (FW 2017-18), HLTH 101 (F 2017) and SPAN 111 (W 2018) to Aegrotat standing. After careful consideration of the documentation you submitted and the information supplied by the instructors about the circumstances surrounding these courses, I have decided to grant your request for AG standing in HLTH 101 and SPAN 111.

The instructors of these courses have submitted replacement grades based on the work you have completed. They will appear on your transcript as follows:

HLTH 101 B+ along with the notation €œAegrotat: estimated grade€.
SPAN 111 C- along with the notation €œAegrotat: estimated grade€.

I cannot grant you Aegrotat standing in SOCY 122 since the instructor has advised me that you have completed all the components of this course. I can however granted you Credit standing in SOCY 122 if you like. The course would then be included in your degree requirements but the grade would not negatively impact your GPA.

Furthermore, I cannot grant you Aegrotat Standing in PSYC 100 you failed the components that you completed.

If you would like to accept the offer of a CR in SOCY 122 and a late drop in PSYC 100, please email asc.appeals@queensu.ca within 21 days of receiving this letter and we will make the appropriate changes to your transcript.

This appeal is your first appeal so I am willing to grant it but going forward, it will be your responsibility to drop courses by Week 8 of the term if any issues are affecting your studies. Appeals after Week 8 will only be considered if a new or acute problem persists.
