Dear Mr. Sul:
I have carefully considered your appeal to add STAT 263 (W 2019) after the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to deny your request.
As you know, courses must be added on SOLUS within the published deadlines. The Academic Regulations (Appeal of Academic Decisions, IIIb) stress that exceptions to this will only be waived under exceptional circumstances. In the absence of extenuating circumstances, beyond your control, which would have prevented you from meeting the add deadline as published in the Arts and Science Calendar, I can not reasonably waive the Faculty Regulation.
Please note that this course was closed as of January 18th, the last date to add a course, and there were several students on the wait list at that time. I cannot in good faith allow you to register late in this course while those students who were on the wait list were not able to do so. Furthermore, you currently have an Incomplete grade in PSYC 205. Completing that course plus adding an additional course for Winter term would be not in your best academic interests.
If you wish to appeal the Associate Dean€™s decision to the Board of Studies, you must submit an appeal to the Board of Studies within 21 days of the date this decision was sent.
