Dear Ms. Reid:
I was sorry to read of the recent diagnosis you received regarding a health related matter. After carefully considering your appeal to drop KNPE 251 and ANAT 315 (F 2018) past the academic deadline and receive Credit standing in HLTH 252 and KNPE 225 (F 2018), I have decided to grant your request. Your grades in HLTH 252 and KNPE 225 will appear on your transcript as CR.
I was very pleased to read that you had evaluated your health and sought out help from Student Wellness Services this term. Often that initial recognition that one needs help is the biggest hurdle and I commend you for making use of the services available to you.
I encourage you to continue to work with your Counsellor and an Academic Advisor to manage your academics. The appeals process is not designed to deal with academic matters after the fact so it is important that you pause and evaluate the impact of your health on your studies prior to week 8 of term. If you have fallen behind in your readings or assignments, it is important that you drop courses by the academic drop deadline dates.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
Yours sincerely,
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
