Dear John Fleming,

I was sorry to read that you have been struggling in your Winter term courses. After carefully considering your appeal to drop POLS 250 (F/W 18/19), PHAR 100, POLS 212 and POLS 264 (W 19) past the academic deadline, I have decided to grant your request.

I have granted this appeal based on your extenuating circumstances and am hoping this is a learning experience for to evaluate the impact of your health on your studies during week 7 of the term. If you have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, you should drop the course by week 8 of term. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the €œImportant Dates€ section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students. I encourage you to reach out to Queen€™s Accessibility Services (QSAS) in Student Wellness to explore if you qualify for an accommodation that may help you manage your academics along with your health related challenges. You may also want to consider taking a lighter course load when you return to campus in the Fall 2019 term.
