I was sorry to read of the health related challenges you experienced and I have carefully considered your appeal to drop HIST 243, POLS 262 and POLS 264 (W 2019) past the academic deadline. Based on the circumstances outlined as well as your documentation, I have decided to grant your request.

Sydney, I strongly encourage you to follow through with your plan to continue to seek professional help with regards to your mental health and suggest that you consider registering with QSAS who may be able to assist you with accommodations to help guide you to academic success. Going forward, I strongly recommend that you pause and evaluate the impact of your health on your studies prior to week 8 of term. The week 8 drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the €œImportant Dates€ section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students.
