Course: HLTH 333

Year: 2019
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline

Dear Leia Johnson:

I have reviewed your request to participate in a bilateral interdepartmental exchange to Fudan University for the 2019-2020 academic year. As you know, Regulation 14.4 indicates that €œnormally the last two years of the Honours degree are taken in the Faculty of Arts and Science at Queen€™s.€ However, given the circumstances explained in your letter of appeal, and the support of the School of Kinesiology and Health Studies, I agree to this request. Please consult with your department regularly to ensure that the courses you select will properly fulfill the Queen€™s requirements for your degree.

You must now apply for an International Letter of Permission through the International Programs Office. Please allow up to 21 days to receive a response.

Note that official transcripts with final grades must be received by the Faculty of Arts and Science Office upon completion of the courses. Please keep in mind that you must achieve a minimum grade of C on each course taken on a Letter of Permission, unless stated otherwise.

Finally, please be advised that a student can complete a maximum of 54.0 transfer units towards their BA Honours degree (see Academic Regulation 16.1.3).

I have also reviewed your request to drop HLTH 333 (W 2019) after the drop deadline. After reviewing your file I have decided to grant your request. Going forward and upon your return to Queen€™s, I recommend that you pause and evaluate the impact of your circumstances on your academic progress and if you have fallen behind in your course work or if your circumstances are impacting your studies, you should ensure that you drop courses by the week 8 drop deadline dates.

I wish you well in your studies at Fudan University and in your future undertakings.

Yours sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Studies)
