Dear Thomas Pineau-Valencienne,

After carefully considering your appeal to drop FREN 290 (F18) past the academic deadline, I have decided to grant your request.

I have granted this appeal based on the severity of your extenuating circumstances but need to warn you that the appeals process is not meant to be used to manage a chronic condition. Instead, students should register with QSAS and work with an accommodation advisor to manage their academics.

I am also willing to drop WRIT 125 (F 18), HIST 124B and RELS 131B (W 19) based on the circumstances you have outlined. If you wish to accept the offer of a late drop in that course, please email asc.appeals@queensu.ca within 21 days and we will proceed with that late drop as well.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
