I was sorry to read of the difficult challenges you encountered during your first years of study which no doubt impacted your academic progress. I have carefully considered your appeal to drop CLST 205 (F 2015), SOCY 211 (W 2016), DRAM 100 (FW 2015/16) and RELS 131 (S 2016) past the academic deadline and receive Credit standing in SOCY 275 (F 2015). After reviewing your circumstances, documentation, and support from your instructor, I have decided to grant your request. Your grade in SOCY 275 will appear on your transcript as CR.

When considering this appeal, I paid close attention to the various steps you have taken to heal and was pleased to see that you took time away from your studies during that process. I encourage you to continue to seek support from your Counsellor if needed and consider registering with QSAS if ongoing accommodations are necessary upon your return. I also suggest that you pause and evaluate your progress in your courses during week 7 of term. If you have fallen behind in your studies you should drop courses by week 8.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
