Dear Tess Posine:
I have reviewed your appeal to drop PSYC 100 (FW 2018/19) after the drop date as well as change the grade you received in FILM 214 (W 2019) to Aegrotat standing and am so very sorry to have read of the difficulties you experienced during winter term. Certainly the situation you have outlined would have impacted your studies and I agree to grant your appeal.
The instructor of FILM 214 (W 2019) has submitted a replacement grade based on the work you have completed, which will appear on your transcript as a C+ along with the notation €œAegrotat: estimated grade€.
I encourage you to continue to reach out to your support network including meeting with Barb Lotan. I also suggest, if recommended by Barb, that you consider registering with QSAS should you require support with both your health and your academics.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
I wish you well in your continued recovery.
Yours sincerely,
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
