Dear Charlotte Carre:

I am sorry to read in your letter of appeal of the health related challenges you have been experiencing and I have carefully considered your appeal to drop ENIN 140 (S 2019) past the academic deadline and receive Credit standing ENIN 340 and ECON 111 (S 2019). After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request. Your grades in ENIN 340 and ECON 111 will appear on your transcript as CR.

I have granted this appeal based on the severity of your extenuating circumstances and the treatment you are currently engaged in. But I need to warn you that the appeals process is not meant to be used to manage ongoing problems. The Appeal process is designed for students who encounter problems, or whose problems become acute, after the drop deadline. Instead, I would encourage you to work with your Counsellor and considering registering with QSAS who can assist you in managing both your health and your academics. This could include taking a lighter course load and would include evaluating the impact of your health on your studies prior to week 8 of term.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
