I was sorry to read of the health related challenges you experienced during your first year of university study and I am sure the circumstances were difficult to cope with. I have reviewed your appeal to seeking Aegrotat standing in MATH 110, MATH 120, CHEM 112 (FW 2018/19); BIOL 103, WRIT 125 (W 2019) After careful consideration of the documentation you submitted, I have decided the following:

1) To grant your appeal for Aegrotat standing in MATH 110, MATH 120, CHEM 112 (FW 2018/19); WRIT 125 (W 2019).

The instructors have submitted a replacement grade based on the work you have completed as follows:

MATH 110 will appear on your transcript with a grade of C- along with the notation €œAegrotat: estimated grade€.

MATH 120 will appear on your transcript with a grade of C+ along with the notation €œAegrotat: estimated grade€.

CHEM 112 will appear on your transcript with a grade of B+ along with the notation €œAegrotat: estimated grade€.

WRIT 125 will appear on your transcript with a grade of B along with the notation €œAegrotat: estimated grade€.

2) To deny your request for Aegrotat standing in BIOL 103. The information we received from the instructor advised that the final exam had a weight of 43. Therefore the design of this course does not allow for Aegrotat standing since completing 60 of the course work is a requirement for this appeal option. I am however willing to drop this course late due to the circumstances you have outlined. If you wish to accept this offer, please email asc.appeals@queensu.ca within 21 days from receiving this letter and we will amend your transcript accordingly.
