Dear Xiangyi Chen:

I have carefully considered your appeal to receive an extension of your incomplete grades in PHYS 372 and PHYS 317 (W 2019). After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

You are permitted up to January 15, 2020 at the latest to write this exam and it is your responsibility to contact Professor Irwin and Professor van Anders to make the appropriate arrangements.

I have noticed that you did not include PHYS 350 and PHYS 345 (W 2019) so I assume you have met the required timeline of completing those course requirements by September 15th and that grade changes are in the process of being submitted by your instructors.

Xiangyi, I am concerned about the consideration request you have submitted regarding your current Fall term courses and suggest that your carefully pause and evaluate your health and ability to complete those courses as well as PHYS 372 and PHYS 317. If you have fallen behind or if your health is impacting your studies and you are unable to complete your current courses as well as these two courses, you may want to drop Fall term 2019 courses by the November 1st drop date deadline. A similar appeal in the future will likely not be granted since your extenuating circumstances pre-date the current Fall 2019 term.
