Student Name: Sinead Duignan
Student Email: sinead.duignan@queensu.ca
Course: POLS 211
Term: Fall
Year: 2019
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline
Dear Sinead Duignan:
I was sorry to read about the difficulties you are experiencing this term and I have carefully considered your appeal to drop POLS 211 (F 2019) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.
Sinead, I encourage you to follow through with your plan to seek out help Student Wellness Services which is located in Mitchell Hall. They can support you as you take the steps necessary to manage your health. Going forward, you should pause and assess your progress in your courses or discuss your options with an Academic Advisor during week 7 or 8 of the term. If you find that you have fallen behind in your attendance, readings or assignments, it is your responsibility to drop by the end of week 8. Appeals for late drops are typically only granted when a problem occurs, or becomes acute, after the drop deadline.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
Best of luck in the balance of your courses this term.
Yours sincerely,
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
