Dear Elizabeth Van Horne:

I was sad to have read in your letter of appeal that your mother has recently passed away and I am very sorry for your loss. No doubt that has been difficult for you and your family and I will certainly grant your appeal to drop BIOL 102 (F 2019) past the academic deadline based on that circumstance. Please be advised that you can drop your full year courses (MATH 121, CHEM 112, PHYS 117 and PSYC 100) on SOLUS yourself since you have until February 28, 2020 to drop full year courses. I might suggest that you drop them by January 17th however so that you can receive the full winter term portion of tuition in these courses. Please note, as is standard practise when a student drops a full year course, the A portion of the courses will be noted on your transcript with a NG (no grade) notation.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
