Student Name: Carly Gagne
Student Email: 17cg8@queensu.ca

Course: STATS 263
Term: Fall
Year: 2019
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline

Dear Carly Gagne:

I was sorry to read of the difficulties you have experienced this term and I have carefully considered your appeal to drop STAT 263 (F 2019) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

Carly, I was pleased to see that you met with Melody Monte and realize that you were trying to make a decision regarding your courses prior to the drop date. Going forward I am confident that you will continue to evaluate your progress in your courses during week 7 or 8 of the term and if you find that you have fallen behind in your attendance, readings or assignments, it is your responsibility to drop by the end of week 8. Appeals for late drops are typically only granted when a problem occurs, or becomes acute, after the drop deadline.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

I encourage you to continue to work with your doctor regarding your health related challenges. If those challenges persist, you may want to register with QSAS who can help you manage both your health and academics.

Yours sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Studies)
