Term: Fall
Year: 2019
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline
Dear Aidan Wellsman:
I was sorry to read about the difficulties you experienced during Fall term and I have carefully considered your appeal to drop RELS 202 and ECON 111 (F 2019) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.
I encourage you to continue to work with your health care team and consider registering with QSAS if ongoing accommodations are required. A QSAS Advisor can help support both your health and academics. Going forward, you should pause and assess your progress in your courses or discuss your options with an Academic Advisor during week 7 or 8 of the term. If you find that you have fallen behind in your attendance, readings or assignments, it is your responsibility to drop by the end of week 8. Appeals for late drops are typically only granted when a problem occurs, or becomes acute, after the drop deadline.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
I am pleased to see that you are carrying a lighter course load this term and wish you the best of luck with those courses.
Yours sincerely,
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
