Course: PHYS 344
Term: Fall
Year: 2019
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline

Dear Anika Chowdhury:

I was sorry to read about the concussion which occurred during the summer 2019 and continued to impact your studies during the Fall term. I have carefully considered your appeal to drop PHYS 344 (F 2019) past the academic deadline based on those challenges and after reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

Going forward, you should pause and assess your progress in your courses during week 7 or 8 of the term. If you find that you have fallen behind in your attendance, readings or assignments, it is your responsibility to drop courses by the end of week 8. Appeals for late drops are typically only granted when a problem occurs, or becomes acute, after the drop deadline.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

Best of luck in your continued recovery and in your courses this term.

Yours sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Studies)
