I have carefully considered your appeal to drop MATH 121 (FW 2017/18), BIOL 202 (F 2018), CHEM 281 and PHGY 215 (F 2018) past the academic deadline as well as receive Credit standing in BIOL 103 (W 2017 and W 2018), CHEM 112 (FW 2016/17), GEOL 106 (W 2017), PSYC 100 FW 2017/18) After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

Your grades in BIOL 103 (W 2017 and W 2018), CHEM 112, GEOL 106 and PSYC 100 will appear on your transcript as CR.

I have granted this appeal based on the severity of your extenuating circumstances but I need to warn you that the appeals process is not meant to be used to manage ongoing problems. The appeal process is designed for students who encounter problems, or whose problems become acute, after the drop deadline. Instead, I would encourage you to continue to work with your health care professionals, including a counsellor from QSAS, you can help you manage both your health and academics. This could include taking a lighter course load and would include evaluating the impact of your health on your studies prior to week 8 of term and dropping courses which are affected by your extenuating circumstances.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
