Year: 2019
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline
Dear Kristen Kim:
I was sorry to read about the difficulties you experienced during the Fall term 2019 and I have carefully considered your appeal to drop GNDS 335 and MUSC 358 (F 2019) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.
I encourage you to continue to work with your health care professionals and your QSAS Advisor and suggest that going forward, you pause and assess your progress in your courses during week 7 or 8 of the term. If you find that you have fallen behind in your attendance, readings or assignments, it is your responsibility to drop by the end of week 8. Appeals for late drops are typically only granted when a problem occurs, or becomes acute, after the drop deadline.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
Best of luck in your courses this term.
Yours sincerely,
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
