I was sorry to read of the health related challenges you experienced last year and have carefully considered your appeal to drop STAT 269, STAT 353 and MATH 281 (W 2019) past the academic deadline and receive Credit standing in STAT 351 and STAT 462 (F 2018). After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request. Your grades in STAT 351 and STAT 462 will appear on your transcript as CR.

I have granted this appeal based on the severity of your extenuating circumstances but I need to warn you that the appeals process is not meant to be used to manage ongoing problems. The Appeal process is designed for students who encounter problems, or whose problems become acute, after the drop deadline. Instead, I encourage you to continue to work with your health care professionals. I also suggest that you consider registering with QSAS if ongoing accommodation are required. A QSAS Advisor can help you manage both your health and academics. This could include taking a lighter course load, which I see that you have done this term, and would include evaluating the impact of your health on your studies prior to week 8 of term and dropping courses which are affected by your extenuating circumstances.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
