Course: HIST 216
Term: Fall
Year: 2019
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline
Dear Olivier Champagne:
I was sorry to read that you have been struggling this year and after carefully considering your appeal to drop HIST 285 and HIST 216 (F 2019) past the academic deadline, I have decided to grant your request based on the circumstances outlined as well as your documentation.
I have granted this appeal based on your extenuating circumstances and am hoping this is a learning experience for you Olivier to evaluate the impact of your health on your studies during week 7 of the term. If you have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, you should drop the course by week 8 of term. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the €œImportant Dates€ section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students and remaining in courses with the hope of catching up can cause additional stress.
I encourage you to continue to work with your supports from Student Wellness Services and to follow through with your plan to register with QSAS, if you have not done so already, and work with an accommodation advisor who may be able to help you manage your academics along with your health related challenges.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
Yours sincerely,
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
