Dear Christina Lim:

I was sorry to read of the very difficult challenges you were experiencing while you were a student during the 2012/2013 academic year and after carefully considering your appeal to drop FILM 240 (F 2012) and SOCY 122, HIST 125 (F/W 2012/13) past the academic deadline, I have decided to grant your request based on the circumstances outlined as well as your documentation. Christina please note that he NG notation on your transcript for the F term portion of the 2012/13 courses cannot removed. The NG notation is designed to note there is no grade provided for the fall term portion of a full year course.

I have granted this appeal based on your extenuating circumstances and because you are actively seeking support. Going forward, I encourage you to pause and evaluate the impact of your health on your studies during week 7 of the term. If you have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, you should drop the course by week 8 of term. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the €œImportant Dates€ section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students.

I encourage you to continue to work with your support network and to consider registering with QSAS (Queen€™s Student Accessibility Services) and work with an accommodation advisor who may be able to help you manage your academics along with your health related challenges if and when you resume your studies.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
