Dear Graham Jones:

I was sorry to read of the difficulties you outlined in your letter and I have carefully considered your appeal to drop CHEM 112, MATH 121, PHYS 117 (FW 2018/19) and PHAR 100 (W 2019) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

Graham, based on the circumstances you have outlined, I strongly encourage you to consider registering with QSAS, if you haven€™t done so already, as they can help you manage both your health and your academics if your challenges return. Your transcript demonstrates to me that you have made good academic progress this year and I encourage you to continue to work with your health care professionals.

Going forward, you should pause during week 7 of the term and if you find that you have fallen behind in your attendance, readings or assignments, it is your responsibility to drop courses by the week 8 drop date deadline.. Appeals for late drops are typically only granted when a problem occurs, or becomes acute, after the drop deadline and future appeals based on these circumstances may not be granted in the future.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
