Dear Melanie Travassos:

I have carefully considered your appeal to drop RELS 162 (F 2019) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I have granted this appeal based the connections you have made with QSAS and the change to your treatment changes. It is important that you continue to work with your health care team who will help you manage both your health and your academics. It is my expectation that, going forward, you will assess your progress in your courses with your QSAS Advisor during week 7 or 8 of the term. You have previously been warned that if you find that you have fallen behind in your attendance, readings or assignments, it is your responsibility to drop courses by the end of week 8. Appeals for late drops are typically only granted when a problem occurs, or becomes acute, after the drop deadline and appeals based on similar circumstances may not be granted in the future.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
