Dear Tiffany Ho,

I am sorry to have read in your appeal letter the challenges you experienced during Fall term and I have reviewed your appeal to change the grades you received in ECON 310, ECON 351 and DEVS 250 (F 2019) to Credit standing. After careful consideration of the documentation you submitted and the information supplied by the instructors about the circumstances surrounding these courses, I have decided to grant your appeal.

Your grades in these courses will appear on your transcript as CR.

Tiffany I would like to note that I have exercised some leniency in this decision, acknowledging your challenges. Going forward however you should drop courses by week 8 of term if you have fallen behind or are unsure of your success. You indicate in your letter of appeal that you began to experience health related challenges in September and that was your warning sign that you should have dropped courses by the drop date, even core courses. Future appeals based on the same condition may not be granted in the future.

I encourage you to continue to work with your counsellor and QSAS if your health-related challenges continue.

Sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Academic)
