Decision Date: June 2, 2020
Associate Dean: Jill Atkinson, Ph.D.
Student Name: Kasia Kielich
Student Email: 16kk57@queensu.ca

Dear Kate Kielich:

It has come to my attention that you are seeking late drops in CISC 101, COGS 100 (F 2017), CISC 101, MATH 112, STAT 263 (W 2018) and Credit standing in GEOL 104 (F 2017). I have careful considered your original appeal and documentation and I have decided to grant this additional request.

Kate, I see you are currently in an ECON Plan which I suspect is a placeholder Plan for you as you seem to have taken a significant amount of courses in Film. If you hope to switch into the Film Plan (or another Plan), perhaps the granting of this appeal will be helpful as your GPA will now improve. You can request a Plan Change but today (June 2nd) is the last date to do that through our web site at www.queensu.ca/artsci.

Going forward, you should also pause and evaluate the impact of your health on your studies prior to week 8 of term. The week 8 drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the €œImportant Dates€ section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

I am pleased to see your success in the recent years and wish you well in your continued progress.

Yours sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Academic)
