I am sorry to have read in your letter of appeal the challenges you outlined and I have carefully considered your appeal to drop CISC 102 (S 2020) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

Wei, I have granted this appeal based on the challenges you had accessing the course while you were in COVID19 quarantine but need to warn you that the appeals process is not meant to be used to manage technical challenges. Instead, you should pause and evaluate your progress in your studies prior to the drop date deadline. The deadlines, as they have been outlined in the €œImportant Dates€ section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students and if you are experiencing challenges accessing course requirements, it is your responsibility to drop courses by the drop date deadline

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
