Dear Cem Turan:

I was sorry to read of the challenges you have experienced this term and understand the impact that COVID 19 has had on your studies while attending to your family and your health. I have carefully considered your appeal to drop ECON 212 and ENIN 207 (S 2020) past the academic deadline and after reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I have exercised some leniency in this decision, acknowledging the impact the pandemic has had on your studies and health. Going forward however, I suggest that you pause and evaluate your progress in your courses prior to the drop date deadlines and assess whether you are actively engaged in your courses and are completing your assignments on time. If not, you should drop any courses in which you have fallen behind by the drop date deadline. Appeals for late drops are generally reserved for those who encounter problems after the drop date deadline or whose problems become more acute and is not meant to manage ongoing conditions and would normally include supporting documentation.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
